I finished thru-hiking the entire 2,190mi Appalachian Trail!
I had the intention of posting on this blog throughout my hike but that didn’t go so well...
I had limited cell service and battery and honestly it was the last thing I wanted to worry about after hiking all day! By the end of my hike I was waking up at 5:30am and hiking until 7:30pm and was EXHAUSTED at the end of the day. I was too lazy to even cook dinner so I got rid of my stove and ate cold instant mashed potatoes. It wasn’t the most enjoyable dinner but I didn’t care at that point.
I started on 2/22/18 at Amicalola Falls in GA and finished at the top of Mt. Katahdin in ME on 7/1/18. I started solo and although I met some people along the way, I was mostly alone. I was the 47th person overall to finish! I was averaging 10miles a day in the beginning and 25-30miles a day by the end!
Hiking this trail was the most physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging thing I have ever done. It was also equally as rewarding!! If you would like to hear more or have any questions please send me a message and we can find some time to talk 😊
